Why we make bars…..

I am a recovering “junk food athlete”. I went all the way to the Olympics fueled on sports drinks, processed grains, and low fat, factory farmed meats. Basically S.A.D. “Standard American Diet”! I thought I was being healthy but little did I know that I was developing a full blown autoimmune disease. In our country we equate being healthy with being thin. Playing on the national team for 12 years I burned enough calories to eat whatever I wanted. And this included a lot of energy bars.

When I retired from field hockey I opened a café. I became a food maker and saw this a great responsibility. I stood at the register and took money and handed people something they were going to put in their body. This relationship should be valued higher and be worthy of trust.

When I learned that 80% our immune system is located in our digestive system, and I had an autoimmune disease, I went back to school to learn all I could about food and health. Food is immunity.

5 years ago I created The GoodonYa Bar because I know that when people are in a rush or stuck on a plane and hungry this is when they often reach for something that is not healthy. I wanted to create a truly healthy product for people on the go. And for athletes that desperately need quality food for recovery and performance. We are truly motivated to do the right thing. To make sure every ingredient is pure and organic. We can make another bar and easily put a few cheap grains in to help bring our cost down, but there are enough bars doing that.

The GoodonYa bar is a bar for people who have made food a priority in their lives. We keep our prices as low as possible, making less than .30/bar because we believe all people should have access to organic food.

This is more than just another bar! This is a belief system, a movement, a way of life. And the best part is…… it tastes great
